We would like to share an extra special

"Thank you!" for the many volunteers that made The Cowpoke Fall Gathering possible this year!

Local artist Tommie Moller opens the Cowpoke Fall Gathering every year with a traditional Hopi Indian prayer mound blessing. To ask for a special blessing or to give thanks, participants take a prayer stick, draw a design, or write their name or comment, say a prayer, and insert and leave the prayer stick into the mound. The prayer mound represents the earth, the stick is the bridge between the earth and the sky. The feather takes the request or blessing to the creator.
