The mission of the Cowpoke Foundation is to preserve and promote the American cowboy heritage. Our premier event is the Cowpoke Fall Gathering where cowboy poetry, music and story telling reinforce the "cowboy way" at the heart of western traditions. Educational programs in local schools and youth performances at The Fall Gathering ensure that this heritage continues by exposing young people to these oral folk art forms.
100% of the proceeds from the 2014 Cowpoke Fall Gathering will go to local charities.
This years beneficiaries are:
- Ride to Walk: A therapeutic horseback riding program for neurologically disabled children. Located in Lincoln, CA.
- South Placer Heritage Foundation: For the continued support in the renovation of the Blue Goose Event Center.
- Sutter Roseville Comprehensive Cancer Clinic: Chosen for this years Tough Enough To Wear Pink Funds. Clinic provides all of the supportive programs a patient needs during their cancer treatment under one roof. Most services are either covered by insurance or free of charge.
- Jump In!: For the Friends of the Del Oro Pool who are raising funds to replace the aging pool located at Del Oro High School in Loomis.
